Appetites rejoice. One of the top attractions of Frankfurt culture is its food and drink scene. Frankfurt’s restaurants offer pretty much every ethnic taste as well as a wide variety of German style restaurants. If you are into the regional Wurst (sausage) and Bier specialities, venture out to one of Frankfurt’s many Äbbelwoi kneipe’s (applewine taverns) where you can feast upon interestingly sour homemade apple wine, vast arrays of meats and sausages, handkäse cheese and other stick-to-your-rib treats.
This traditional applewinery has been in the same family for 115 years, but has been a piece of Frankfurt history since 1679. Recommended dishes here include all the typical Frankfurter specialities. The inside is a snug fit, filled with historic German relics and photos, so call for reservations.
An authentic American steakhouse, with a cosy candlelit atmosphere, and exceptionally refined service - at a price. Before the meal, a presentation of your potential steak is offered for you to choose from. The ample portions of steak should keep you satisfied, but they also have a daily menu card with non-steak items.
A moody low-lit homage to a Raj-era gentlemen's club. Choose from colonial-influenced seafood (tandoori prawns with coriander mash) and superb steaks. Luxurious and posh, the Ivory Club feels like the drawing room of a castle; meticulously bedecked and with sumptuous cuisine to match the décor.
